Who We’re Looking For
An experienced trainer who:
- Is comfortable with puppies, high-energy dogs, and behavior cases (reactivity, fear, aggression, separation anxiety)
- Can board dogs in their home in a clean, safe, and dog-friendly environment
- Has reliable transportation capable of safely transporting dogs
- Is an independent self-starter who values being part of a collaborative team
- Communicates professionally with clients and team members
- Is consistent, organized, and has high attention to detail
Job Duties
Dog Training & Client Support
- Train dogs using balanced methods with a focus on real-world results
- Work independently with behavior modification and foundational obedience
- Provide consistent communication to owners (every 3–4 days during board & train)
- Post daily photos or videos to social media for dogs in training
- Conduct private lessons and group class support as needed (minimal)
- Teach dog owners how to follow through at home and provide clear homework
- Assist in mentoring green trainers when requested
- Complete TDW Academy (Experienced Trainer Track – self-paced + 14-day hands-on)
Operations & Communication
Attend two team meetings per month (1 in-person, 1 virtual via Google Meet)
Communicate with the admin team and contribute to internal chat/team channels
Help with occasional grassroots marketing or events when available
Represent The Dog Wizard brand in line with our Code of Conduct and values
Wear branded gear and maintain a professional appearance when working
Sales & Marketing
Conduct evaluations and follow up with leads (optional sales opportunity)
Ask clients for reviews at the end of programs
Occasionally participate in marketing events with the team
Compensation
Hourly Pay:
$20/hour for non-commission tasks such as team meetings, group class support, and marketing events
Training Commission & Bonuses
The position includes a competitive commission-based pay structure for all board & train programs and private lessons. Commission increases are tied to individual performance and overall revenue contribution, with higher percentages earned as certain revenue milestones are reached.
Commission is calculated after standard program expenses are deducted and resets annually as part of a structured bonus model. It ranges between 25% to 35%

This system is designed to reward trainers who are consistent, high-performing, and committed to delivering results and excellent client experiences.
Sales Commission (Optional Enrollment)
Trainers may choose to opt into a sales commission bonus structure based on monthly conversion rates from evaluations to enrollments. This commission is performance-based and fluctuates over time.
Monthly Sales Commission Tiers:
Ranges between 2% and 5%
