Terms of Service
Effective: September 4, 2026
These Terms of Service are between you and Strike Group LLC d/b/a Balance Board (“Balance Board,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
We built Balance Board around a simple belief: people should have better information when deciding where to spend a significant part of their lives.
These Terms explain the practical rules that allow us to provide Balance Board fairly and responsibly. We have tried to write them in plain language because transparency should apply to us too.
By creating an account, purchasing Balance Board+, or otherwise using balanceboard.work and our related services, you agree to these Terms.
If something here is unclear, you can reach us at support@balanceboard.work.
1. What Balance Board Does
Balance Board helps people discover work that fits their lives.
We organize job information and provide tools that make it easier to search and evaluate opportunities based on things that matter to you, including compensation, benefits, flexibility, location, time off, work expectations, and other factors.
Some features are available to everyone. Balance Board+ provides additional tools designed to make finding, comparing, and keeping up with relevant opportunities easier.
Balance Board is not an employer, staffing agency, recruiter, or employment placement service unless we explicitly say otherwise for a particular service.
2. Job Information
We work hard to provide job information that is useful, current, and accurate.
At the same time, jobs change. Positions are updated, filled, closed, removed, or modified by employers, sometimes without notice to us.
We may organize, normalize, categorize, summarize, or otherwise process job information to make opportunities easier to understand, search, and compare. Despite our efforts, information may occasionally be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect.
We encourage you to confirm important details with the employer before making a significant decision. This includes things such as:
- compensation;
- benefits;
- work location;
- remote or hybrid expectations;
- schedules and travel;
- eligibility requirements;
- job responsibilities; and
- other terms of employment.
If information displayed by Balance Board differs from information currently provided by the employer, the employer’s current information should be treated as authoritative.
Our goal is to give you better information earlier, not to replace the conversation between you and a potential employer.
3. Applying for Jobs
We believe unnecessary layers between a job seeker and an employer rarely make the process better.
Whenever possible, Balance Board provides a direct path to the employer’s application process.
When you follow a link to an employer or another application service, you are leaving Balance Board. That service operates independently from us and may have its own terms, privacy practices, requirements, and technology.
Unless we specifically tell you otherwise, Balance Board does not submit applications on your behalf.
We also cannot guarantee that an employer will review your application, contact you, interview you, or offer you employment.
Hiring decisions belong to you and the employer.
4. Your Account
Some Balance Board features require an account.
We ask that you provide accurate information and take reasonable steps to keep your login credentials secure.
You are responsible for activity through your account unless you notify us that your account has been compromised.
If you think someone has accessed your account without permission, contact us at support@balanceboard.work.
Paid accounts are intended for the person who purchased them. Please do not sell, transfer, or share a subscription in a way intended to avoid another person’s need for their own account.
5. Age Requirements
Balance Board is not directed toward children under 13.
If you are under 18, you may use Balance Board where legally permitted, with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian when required.
You must be at least 18 years old, or the legal age of majority where you live, to purchase Balance Board+ yourself.
6. Balance Board+
Balance Board+ adds tools designed to make your job search easier, more focused, and less time consuming.
The features included with Balance Board+ are described on our website.
Balance Board continues to grow, and Balance Board+ grows with it. We may improve existing features, add new capabilities, change how features work, or occasionally retire features that no longer serve the product well.
We do not want people paying because of vague promises about what might exist someday. Features presented as available are part of the current service. Features identified as preview, beta, experimental, planned, upcoming, or similar may change and may not become permanent parts of Balance Board+.
Purchasing Balance Board+ does not give you exclusive ownership of job opportunities or prevent free users from discovering jobs.
Our goal is to keep opportunity accessible while offering paid tools that can save subscribers time and effort.
7. Subscription Billing
Balance Board+ is offered as a recurring subscription.
Before you complete a purchase, we will clearly show:
- the amount you will be charged;
- how often you will be charged;
- whether the subscription automatically renews; and
- how to cancel.
By purchasing a recurring Balance Board+ subscription, you authorize Strike Group LLC d/b/a Balance Board and our payment provider to charge your selected payment method according to the billing schedule shown when you subscribe.
Applicable taxes may be added where required.
8. Automatic Renewal
Your Balance Board+ subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it.
For example, a monthly subscription generally renews each month, while a three-month subscription generally renews every three months.
Your actual renewal schedule and price will be clearly shown before you purchase.
We do not believe recurring billing should depend on someone forgetting that a subscription exists. We will make subscription information and cancellation options reasonably accessible from your account.
9. Cancellation
You may cancel Balance Board+ at any time.
Cancellation stops future renewals.
Unless we tell you otherwise, you will continue to have access to your paid features through the end of the period you already paid for.
We believe canceling should be straightforward. We will not intentionally hide cancellation options or create unnecessary steps designed simply to keep you subscribed.
Additional details are available in our Refunds & Cancellations Policy.
10. Refunds
Refunds are governed by our Refunds & Cancellations Policy.
Our published policy establishes what we promise. It does not prevent us from being more generous when circumstances reasonably call for it.
We want customers to feel good about paying for Balance Board. If you believe something went wrong, including an accidental renewal, duplicate charge, billing error, or other problem, please contact us at support@balanceboard.work.
We reserve the right to decline refund requests involving fraud, repeated abuse of the refund policy, or other attempts to take unfair advantage of the service.
Nothing in these Terms limits refund or consumer rights that cannot legally be waived.
11. Changes to Pricing
The cost of operating and improving Balance Board may change over time, so subscription pricing may change too.
A future price change will not retroactively change an amount you have already paid.
If a price change affects an upcoming renewal, we will provide notice when required and give you an opportunity to cancel before the new price takes effect.
Promotional, discounted, or introductory offers may have additional terms. We will disclose those terms when the offer is made.
12. Payment Processing
We use third-party payment providers to process payments.
Those providers may collect and process payment information under their own terms and privacy policies.
We intentionally rely on established payment providers rather than building our own system for storing sensitive payment card information.
Banks, card issuers, payment networks, and payment processors operate independently from Balance Board, and some payment issues may require their involvement.
13. Fair Use
Most people will never need to think about this section.
We simply ask that you use Balance Board in ways that do not harm the service, other users, employers, or our ability to keep providing it.
You may not:
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to Balance Board or another person’s account;
- interfere with the security or operation of the service;
- introduce malware or harmful code;
- use Balance Board for fraud, harassment, or unlawful activity;
- impersonate another person or organization;
- systematically scrape, copy, harvest, or reproduce substantial portions of our database or service without permission;
- bypass technical restrictions or reasonable usage limits;
- use automated systems to access the service except through methods we expressly permit; or
- use Balance Board in a way that materially harms the service or other people.
We prefer proportional responses to problems. A mistake does not automatically mean permanent account termination.
When appropriate, we may warn you, limit access, suspend an account, or take other reasonable steps before permanently ending access.
14. Account Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate an account when reasonably necessary because of fraud, abuse, security concerns, unlawful activity, significant violations of these Terms, or a meaningful risk to Balance Board or its users.
When practical and appropriate, we will try to communicate with you and provide an opportunity to resolve the issue first.
If we terminate a paid subscription for reasons unrelated to your misconduct or violation of these Terms, we will provide an appropriate refund for any unused prepaid subscription period.
Refunds may be declined when an account is terminated because of fraud, abuse, or a material violation of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
You may stop using Balance Board at any time.
15. Third-Party Websites and Services
Balance Board connects you with opportunities across many employers and may link to employer websites, career pages, application systems, payment services, and other third-party websites.
Those services are not operated by Balance Board.
Their inclusion does not mean that we control or endorse everything they do, and their own terms and privacy policies may apply when you use them.
16. Employers, Company Names, Logos, and Job Content
Company names, trademarks, logos, job descriptions, and other materials belonging to employers or third parties remain the property of their respective owners.
A company appearing on Balance Board does not necessarily mean that it sponsors, endorses, partners with, or has a commercial relationship with Balance Board.
Likewise, a company’s presence or absence from Balance Board should not be interpreted as an endorsement or criticism of that employer.
Balance Board’s own software, design, branding, search tools, organization of information, original content, and other proprietary materials belong to Strike Group LLC d/b/a Balance Board or are used under appropriate rights and protections.
17. Privacy
Trust requires treating people’s information responsibly.
We believe that also means not collecting or keeping information simply because we can.
Our approach is to collect and retain the information reasonably needed to operate, protect, improve, and provide Balance Board, rather than building unnecessary profiles about the people using it.
For example, Balance Board does not retain the contents of your searches. Our systems may record that a search occurred for operational, security, usage, or service-improvement purposes, but we do not need to retain what you searched for in order to provide the service.
That distinction matters to us.
Other information may be needed to provide features you intentionally use. For example, if you choose to save something, configure an alert, maintain account preferences, or purchase Balance Board+, we may need to retain the information necessary to provide that feature.
Our Privacy Policy explains in more detail:
- what information we collect;
- why we collect it;
- what we intentionally do not retain;
- how we use information;
- how long different types of information may be kept;
- which service providers we rely on; and
- the choices available to you.
Marketing communications are separate from essential account, billing, security, and service communications.
We believe earning trust includes being thoughtful not only about how information is protected, but also about whether we need to collect it in the first place.
18. Service Availability
Balance Board is a living service. We continually improve it, expand it, and learn from how people use it.
That also means things occasionally change.
Features may be improved, redesigned, replaced, or retired. Maintenance, technical problems, security issues, third-party outages, and circumstances outside our control may occasionally make some or all of the service unavailable.
We cannot promise uninterrupted service.
For paid features, we will try to avoid changes that materially reduce the value of an active subscription without reasonable notice or an appropriate remedy.
19. No Employment Guarantee
Finding the right opportunity depends on many things outside our control.
Balance Board cannot guarantee:
- that every listed position remains available;
- that every employer-provided detail is complete or accurate;
- that you qualify for a particular opportunity;
- that an employer will review or respond to your application;
- that you will receive an interview;
- that you will receive an employment offer; or
- that the terms ultimately offered by an employer will match information previously published about the position.
We provide tools and information to help you make better-informed decisions.
The employment relationship itself remains between you and the employer.
20. Our Responsibility for the Service
We put real effort into making Balance Board useful, reliable, and trustworthy.
But we cannot promise perfection.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Balance Board is provided on an “as available” basis. We cannot guarantee that every listing, classification, benefit, salary, search result, or other piece of information will always be complete, current, accurate, or error-free.
Nothing in these Terms removes warranties or consumer protections that legally cannot be waived.
21. Limitation of Liability
This section exists because many important parts of a job search, especially employer decisions and third-party information, are outside our control.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Strike Group LLC d/b/a Balance Board will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.
This includes things such as lost employment opportunities, lost income, hiring decisions, or decisions made based on inaccurate or outdated third-party information.
Where liability cannot otherwise be excluded, our total liability arising from Balance Board will not exceed the greater of:
- the amount you paid to Balance Board during the 12 months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim; or
- $100.
These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law and do not limit liability that legally cannot be limited.
22. Changes to These Terms
Balance Board will continue to evolve, and occasionally these Terms will need to evolve with it.
We may update them to reflect changes in the service, our business, legal requirements, or the way we operate.
If we make a material change, we will provide reasonable notice through email, Balance Board, or another appropriate method.
Changes apply prospectively after their effective date.
If a material change significantly affects an active paid subscription, we will provide notice when appropriate so you can decide whether you want to continue.
23. Resolving Problems
We would rather solve a problem with you than argue about it.
If you have a concern about Balance Board, your subscription, billing, or these Terms, please contact us at support@balanceboard.work.
We will make a good-faith effort to understand the issue and reach a fair resolution.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable consumer law provides otherwise.
Any legal proceeding that is not required by law to be brought somewhere else will be brought in an appropriate state or federal court located in Horry County, South Carolina.
Nothing in these Terms prevents you from exercising consumer rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived.
24. If Part of These Terms Cannot Be Enforced
If a court determines that one part of these Terms cannot be enforced, the remaining Terms will continue to apply.
The unenforceable provision should be interpreted as closely as legally possible to its intended purpose.
25. Our Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our:
- Privacy Policy;
- Refunds & Cancellations Policy; and
- any specific terms presented when you purchase a product or service
make up the agreement between you and Strike Group LLC d/b/a Balance Board regarding your use of Balance Board.
If specific terms presented during a purchase conflict with these general Terms, the more specific terms will control for that purchase.
